Bratwurst with Creamy Mushroom Gravy ππ
Savory bratwurst smothered in rich mushroom gravy—this is comfort food at its best! π Pair it with mashed potatoes or noodles for the perfect meal!
✔️Ingredients:
For the Bratwurst:
4-6 bratwurst sausages
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 cup beer or water (for simmering)
For the Mushroom Gravy:
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
8 oz mushrooms, sliced
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1½ cups beef broth
1/4 cup heavy cream (optional)
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt & pepper to taste
Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Directions:
Cook the bratwurst: Brown bratwurst on all sides, then simmer in beer or water for 10-12 minutes. Set aside.
Make the mushroom gravy: SautΓ© onions and garlic in butter. Add mushrooms and cook until browned.
Thicken the gravy: Stir in flour, then whisk in beef broth. Simmer until thickened, adding Worcestershire and cream (if using).
Serve: Pour gravy over bratwurst, garnish with parsley, and enjoy with mashed potatoes!
